将Liquid Channel和它所模仿的老设备放在一起做A/B测试，谁的金耳朵能听出区别？孰优孰劣？

Focusrite最近在英国Snap! Studios做了一项终极测试，看看到底有谁能区分出Liquid Channel和它所模仿的老设备，孰优孰劣？

他们请来了两位“评委”，分别是Guy Massey和Marco Pasquariello。Guy是Abbey Road Studios的前任录音师，格莱美录音工程师获得者，曾对大卖了3千万张的The Beatles Stereo Box Set做过二次母带处理，他也为Manic Street Preachers, Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran 和 The Coral 做过录音，在2011年获得了MPG录音工程师大奖。Marco则是Snap! Studio的首席工程师，这里收藏有16通道的最初原始版ISA110，Fairchild 670，Neve 5316控台和很多珍宝。


这次的测试办法做到了谨小慎微，由Amy Turnnidge (也就是Theoretical Girl)在录音室演奏吉他并弹唱，声音被实时拾取到之后进入到广播级别的XTA DS800音频分线器，然后分出两根一样材质一样长度的音频线缆，一根到原始设备，另外一根则是到Liquid Channel。两边的声音进入一样的A/D转换器，录到Pro Tools里，所有设备连接的也都是同样的平衡电源。

录音室里还有第三个人Ben，他负责随机回放Pro Tools录制到的声音，播放给Guy Massey和Marco Pasquariello，让他们判断出更喜欢谁的声音，当然他们事先不知道哪个声音是哪个设备发出的，当他们评选出自己最喜欢的声音之后，揭晓答案看到底是老设备更受欢迎还是Liquid Channel。

结果如下，左边是Marco Pasquariello认为最好的设备，右边是Guy Massey认为最好的设备，二人也有无法决定的时候，就是不分伯仲：

结果很明显，在拾取吉他声音的时候，二人几乎都更喜欢Liquid Channel的声音，人声则几乎不分伯仲，铃鼓则几乎大家都更喜欢原始设备的声音。看来对于处理人声和吉他，Liquid Channel的“移魂大法”已经几乎成功了。
